When I was a kid, my dad took me camping to Yosemite almost every summer. I’m sure he only took me on easy hikes when I was younger, but when I got to be a teenager, he wanted to take me on a hike from Tuolomne Meadows up to Vogelsang, which is quite a hike, even for a 17-year-old.

Kauai is overrun by chickens. To say “overrun” is probably an understatement; as far as I can see it, there are so many of them that they probably have seats in the local government.
“Tell me, what is the appeal of ziplining?”
After we said goodbye to my mom, we left the island of Oahu and hopped on over to Kauai.
I have a few days’ worth of posts to fit into this one, folks. Hopefully I can keep it (somewhat) brief.
One of the reasons we visit Hawaii regularly is to see my mother, who lives here on Oahu.
It’s been more than a year since I’ve posted anything…and now I am on vacation, so the travel posts will be coming around pretty often, so strap yourselves in! I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.
Our flight out to Hawaii was fairly uneventful, if long.
